The popular Speedmaster is one of the most famous blacks and white dial fake watches ever made – just like most versions of the Rolex Submariner. Omega has an interesting tradition of black and white watches, including those that are entirely black or white, as well as some that mix the two. This particular iteration of the modern Omega Seamaster 300M is a great example of Omega mixing the two, giving it a very handsome “cookies and cream” aesthetic – that is, with a nice splash of red.
Back in 2019, OMEGA debuted this updated Seamaster 300M Co-Axial Master Chronometer. The new generation model builds on the classic Omega launched in 1993 as a “non-submariner clone” alternative luxury sports watch. The latest generation of the Seamaster 300M has a slightly larger case and a METAS-certified mechanical movement with OMEGA’s own 8800 automatic Co-Axial escapement. This 4 Hz movement has a 55-hour power reserve and is more or less immune to magnetic interference thanks to the use of non-magnetic components in the regulating system, such as non-ferrous and silicon parts.
Although OMEGA has made many fake Rolex watches, each one has a very different personality, as well as a different case style. What evokes the Seamaster 300M is its unique dial style, the iconic position of the manual helium drain at 10 o’clock, and the elegant curves on the case. In fact, I sometimes think the current Seamaster 300M looks better on a rubber strap than a matching steel one – because you can see the shape of the case better when it’s paired with the strap.
Traditionally, the problem with white dial sports watches has been poor readability due to the low contrast hands. Here, fake OMEGA has not only applied the markers with the hands, but they have black edges (and white interiors), which helps them jump out from the dial. This also looks particularly nice because the base dial is white zirconium dioxide ceramic.
Aside from the fact that the Seamaster 300M is designed to look like a serious diver’s tool, what I like most about this high-end timepiece line is that it doesn’t look like anything else on the market. One of the main reasons consumers are willing to spend on luxury items is to identify value. In other words, they like the idea that other people can identify our products. That is on their wrist – something you can easily experience with a Seamaster 300M.
Since as early as 1885, the company had been turning out pocket chronographs, and their first wrist model from 1913 was just one of these huge pocket replica watches converted with the addition of thin metal wires soldered to the case to allow for a strap to be equipped.
The crown and single push button are made of Omega’s own 18k Sedna gold, their red alloy version of the valuable metal material. It implies the watch an inherent sense of aging, similar to real vintage pieces where the underlying brass has started to show through.
Luckily, they haven’t tried to add any artificial patina as some other different brands do with their retro-reissues. The case and dial are left clean, just as they would have been way back when, but they have totally stayed accurate to the time period.
As a bi-register chronograph, it has two rather big sub-dials, what’s more, in the middle is a standard sweep seconds hand, again in Sedna gold.
Opening up the hinged ‘officer’ case back, you get to see to just what extent replica Omega has stayed faithful to its roots. Behind the sapphire crystal is one of the actual calibers used in the 1913 models hard at work.
It is said that the amazing Omega found 18 of these movements in their vaults; 18″‘ CHRO hand-wound mechanisms usually found in pocket watches, which explains why the pusher for the chronograph functions is on the bottom, underneath the six o’clock marker.
After several hundred hours of refurbishing work on each one, even using the real manufacturing machines, they emerged as the Caliber 3018. New parts had to be built particularly for each movement, as no two were an exact match—being made long before today’s level of consistency in precision engineering.
It might not be one of the fake Omega’s latest antimagnetic, hyper-accurate Master Co-Axial movements, but watching the 2.5Hz frequency caliber, with its horizontal clutch and balance wheel, breathe away inside that enormous case is a true taste of watch-making history.
All 18 are being presented in a very nice handcrafted leather trunk, as well as two extra straps, one in burgundy, the other in novonappa leather. Besides that, the lucky owners will receive a special tool to change the straps together with a spring bar container, loupe, and travel pouch.
However, there’s no getting away from the fact that it is an important chunk of change. But for those who don’t have enough money for it, and who have a hankering for the real good old days when watch-making was still in its infancy, the First Omega Wrist Chronograph replica watch is a little short of a masterpiece.
The replica Omega released three watches in 1957 that would become classics for the Swiss watch brand: The Seamaster 300, the Railmaster, and the Speedmaster. It is paying tribute to these three timepieces by releasing 60th-anniversary editions of each model this year, which can be purchased separately or as a group.
For the first time, the replica Omega used digital scanning technology to offer accurate representations of the original watches—including cross-sections and dimensions. This, along with drawings of the original models, served as design templates for the new watches, which were slightly revised but remain true to the 1957 models.
All three fake watches are cased in brushed and polished stainless steel and feature black “tropical” dials. The stainless steel bracelets have been updated for strength and feature a retro-style Omega logo on the clasp. All of the logos on the replica watches are in a different style—a reference to how individual suppliers in the 1950s interpreted the Omega logo. Each replica watch is limited to 3,557 pieces and delivered inside a presentation box inspired by the original 1957 packaging, including the Seahorse on the lid, a retro logo, and red corduroy lining—with two spare straps; leather and NATO; and a tool to change them.
The first Seamaster 300 was sought after for its water-resistance, its black dial, broad arrow hour hand, bi-directional diving bezel, and recessed triangular hour markers. The 2017 model, based on this model, features a black aluminum bezel and retains the original Naïad sign on the crown, which back in 1957 was a mark of the watch’s water resistance. The Seahorse on the caseback also refers to the original. It is powered by the Omega Master Chronometer caliber 8806 and comes with a four-year warranty.
The double-case anti-magnetic fake watch was designed for scientists, technicians, or anyone who worked close to electrical fields. The original’s unpretentious style has been carried over into the 2017 model, though the vintage indexes are slightly deepened to allow a stronger light from the Super-LumiNova filling. The watch is powered by the Omega Master Chronometer caliber 8806, which can resist magnetic fields of up to 15,000 gauss and comes with a four-year warranty.
The original Speedmaster, called the “Broad Arrow,” due to its distinctive hands, was not only the first Speedmaster, but it was also the first chronograph watch with a tachymeter scale on the bezel as opposed to printed on the dial—a feature designed for racecar drivers. On the new model, the font was redrawn to match the scale of the original 1957 tachymeter. It is powered by the Omega 1861 caliber.
2017 is the year 185th anniversary of Longines, it is not a surprise at all as you might have seen that the key heritage pieces were very strong at Baselworld. Just as what we expected, the new Lindbergh Hour Angle model – which aroused my great interests after a visit to the Longines headquarters in Saint Imier earlier this year – did drop early, ahead of the 90th Anniversary of the pioneering aviator’s famous New York to Paris crossing.
Although the watch is just the way you like, the style was actually not; it has a surprisingly contemporary feel. Let’s take the black PVD bezel as an example. And the Longines Heritage 1945, well gave us a serious case of de Ja Vu back to 2015, while the superbly talented artist Sunflower man painted an almost identical model for the cheap Longines Watercolor replica watches Project.
Even though the king’s move was Longines launching their first range to be fully COSC-certified, the Record collection. It’s a completely accessible range as for the price which may answer prayers for those wanting a time and date chronometer without the usual cost, however, besides that, it may serve to raise questions about why rival brands charge such a premium for a certification when Longines has succeeded to have prices from $2250 for ladies versions and $2750 for men’s models.
News from the CEO of replica Omega, Raynald Aeschlimann, the Planet Ocean ‘Big Blue’ Co-Axial Master Chronometer is “one of the most interesting” watches to be released by Omega at Baselworld 2017. He says that it is a “continuation of fake Omega technological innovations, a full ceramic blue Seamaster Planet Ocean, which is coming as a very good surprise, following the Deep Black and following the whole evolution in ceramic that which Omega has been doing for almost three years.”
We should warn you that this is more of a dip than a deep dive as we plan to meet the wider Omega school of 2017, consisting of this blue ceramic diver, later today. It would be very exciting to shoot this blue ceramic model under normal lighting conditions to compare and contrast with the brand video here and previous Swatch Group blue ceramic models, most notably the Blancpain Ocean Commitment Fifty Fathoms models.
